The trek from the National Park HQ to Ngu Lam Peak and Frog Pond is considered Medium to Hard difficulty. It involves steep stone steps and rocky jungle trails. It requires a moderate level of physical fitness and is not suitable for people with knee problems or heart conditions
We recommend this tour for active children aged 8 and above. Younger children (under 6) will find the jungle trek exhausting and difficult. If you have small kids, consider our private Cat Ba National Park Half-Day Tour which focuses on easier caves and sightseeing.
You must wear sneakers or hiking shoes (Flip-flops and sandals are NOT allowed for safety).
Bring: Mosquito repellent, sunscreen, a hat, and a change of clothes (swimwear) for the afternoon boat trip.
Luggage: Please leave heavy suitcases at your hotel. Carry only a light daypack.
Light rain: The tour proceeds as normal (the jungle canopy provides some cover).
Heavy rain/Storm: For safety, if the trails are too slippery, we may change the itinerary to "Cave Visiting + Boat Tour" (Skipping the hard trek) or offer a full refund/reschedule.
